History of Balotsavam – 2023

The 5th Amaravati Balotsavam was conducted in a grand and successful manner from 29th to 31st January 2023 at Potti Sriramulu Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao Engineering College. This three-day children’s festival provided a joyful platform for students to showcase their academic knowledge, cultural talents, and creative abilities.

Nearly 7,000 students from 165 high schools, volunteers 200 participated enthusiastically in the festival. Food arrangements were made for about 10,000 people, including students, teachers, organisers, and volunteers.

Special Programs and Inspiration

The festival was inaugurated with the National Flag hoisting by Sri Chokkappu Venkataramana, Central Children’s Literature Academy Award recipient. The Balotsavam flag was unfurled by Sri Chalavadi Mallikarjuna Rao, Chairman of Amaravati Balotsavam.

Many distinguished guests delivered inspiring speeches, encouraging students to develop creativity, scientific thinking, and social responsibility.

Seminars were also conducted for students on:

  • Cultural development
  • Scientific thinking
  • Science in daily life
  • Education system and creativity

A special highlight was a 7-year-old student, M. Cherry, who amazed everyone by playing drums on stage and showcasing his exceptional talent.

Expansion and Growth

Balotsavams were organised in several centres such as:

  • Mangalagiri–Tadepalli
  • Gannavaram
  • Uyyuru
  • Tiruvuru
  • Rajamahendravaram
  • Devarapalli
During this period, Balotsavams were conducted at 20 locations across the state, showing the rapid expansion and success of the movement.
