History of Balotsavam – 2017
Balotsavam–2017 was organised grandly in Vijayawada from December 6 to 8, 2017, bringing together thousands of students on a common platform to celebrate talent, creativity, and learning. The festival aimed to encourage children to explore their academic and cultural abilities while promoting confidence, teamwork, and self-expression.
A total of 3,764 students from 142 schools, volunteers 160 and actively participated in 49 academic and cultural events. Students from Classes 5 to 10 competed in junior and senior categories, making the festival a vibrant and inspiring celebration of young talent.

Description
Balotsavam–2017 featured a wide range of activities including Best from Waste, clay modelling, memory tests, mono acting, fancy dress, patriotic songs, folk songs, folk dances, and classical dance forms such as Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi. Through these events, students creatively expressed their ideas, culture, and knowledge.
The festival was conducted across six academic stages and six cultural stages, providing equal opportunities for students from government, aided, private, and corporate schools. Government school students won 27 academic prizes, highlighting their excellence and dedication.
Supported by educational institutions, volunteers, and generous donors, Balotsavam–2017 successfully combined education with creativity and culture. The event inspired students, strengthened their confidence, and contributed to their holistic development.
